This lighter case was made to contain and hold gently the thing that brings you warmth. Whether resting in pockets or on homely surfaces, it was created to give you new sights and sensations. It celebrates the power of fire, it connects, brightens and is a reminder to pause and to begin again. Let us move closer. Let us gather, once more, around the fire.

This lighter is part of the collection FROM SOLID TO SOFT, based on a same-titled poem that deals with the reoccurring question of - let’s put it bluntly - WHAT’S THE POINT? With happenings of unspeakable inhumanity going on in various places of this planet, as well as the one or other unpredictability most likely to be experienced in our immediate surroundings, it is my hope that this poem may serve as a consolation and reminder to stay put, to keep on making and to keep connecting - through the sharing of silences, the touch hands or the passing of an evening together. it does matter.

This object was handmade individually from 935 silver. Each piece is hand-carved in wax and locally cast in recycled 935 silver. The wax model, as well as the mould, are destroyed in the process of the silver casting, which is why the process is also called cire perdue or lost form. This means that, even when I reproduce the design, there is only ever one version of your exact ring - it is absolutely unique.

Please note that small irregularities that can occur in/on each piece due to its individual process, are not planned, but never unwanted and will not be accepted as reasons for returns/exchanges.
