there is something heavy that is inherent to any sentiment. i think it is time. to feel is one thing, but for the feeling to attach itself, is another. there is time that has to pass for consecutive, possibly recurring feelings to be turned into something that reaches deeper. a sense of self maybe. something belonging to me. something grounding me. i see you now and something in me is stirred. a stirring made possible by the warmth of the fire in my grandparent‘s living room, the smell of brown butter and my mother‘s cheek on my forehead. years of sensing the world are forming the sentiment of now. of you, now.
