when we pick up a handmade item, we touch the maker’s presence, their thinking and care, brought into the tangible world. and if you will, the handmade object becomes a bridge: between the maker’s present, the wearer’s present, and the future moment in which the object might become a gift.

with this series, i am hoping for something even gentler. its engraving — THIS VERY PRESENT — proposes that simply being with one another, noticing, lingering, encountering, can be its own offering. in the best case, the ring invites a small pause centered on attention. to attend to each other, to crafted things and to the stories that hands and materials carry. it hints that the most meaningful gift might be the experience of shared presence itself.

this series consists of 6 rings and 5 pendants (necklaces). the objects came into being for an event of shared presences, now off to find their homes as rings on your fingers and or as pendants worn close to your hearts. or the ones of your loved ones.

all objects are handmade individually. the pieces are hand-carved in wax and locally cast in recycled 935 silver. the wax model, as well as the mould, are destroyed in the process of the silver casting, which is why the process is also called cire perdue or lost form. this means that there is only ever one version of your exact ring and there cannot be another. it is absolutely unique.
